Playtime Border
Our Borders are sloped to provide a smooth transition from the 5/8 inch (14mm) foam mat height to floor level. Borders give the foam mats a clean edge and help prevent tripping when entering and exiting the floored area. The corner pieces shown in blue have a special triangular edge that fit together to form the corner. The sloped borders are one foot long and work with both the 1 foot mats and the 2 foot mats.
To calculate the number of borders you will need, you will need to know the number of feet around the perimeter of the mat. To calculate the perimeter, take the measurements in feet, width plus the length and multiply it by two. That will be the number of border pieces you will need. Every rectangle will need 4 pairs of the corner borders. For example, if you have a 5'x10' mat, you will need 30 borders, of which 8 of these pieces will be corner borders and 22 will be straight side borders.
